Coeur d'Alene Area Restaurants
Coeur d’Alene, though it be a small community, is blessed with more than our fair share of really GOOD places to get a bite to eat. And, because I am opinionated (aka: eat out "WAY!" too much), I don't hesitate to tell all my friends when I've been some place that has knocked my socks off!
Below are a list of restaurants that are locally owned and operated. We have our fair share of fast-food and chains in Coeur d'Alene, but ilovecda.com is more about sharing the love with our neighbors.
Also, below the list of restaurants is a map to help you get around town!
If you own any of these establishments listed here (or own one not listed here) and would like to have a review on ilovecda.com - e-mail me! I'll be happy to stop by!
Downtown Coeur d'Alene
Bakery by the Lake at Parkside - 314 N. 3rd
Convenient downtown location near park and library.
Beacon (attached to "Brix") - 325 E. Sherman Ave.
Pub - Great lemon drop martini. Hang out for local celebs. Lance Armstrong and Matthew McConaug-hey-hey have been sighted there circa Ironman CDA time.
Bella Rose - 213 E. Sherman Ave.
Charming coffee house with THE BEST chicken curry sandwich ANYWHERE! Where "The Lovely Husband" threw my baby shower! Need I say more?
Beverly's - 115 S. 2nd (in The Resort)
Good food with even better view. Dinners are expensive, try lunch when the menu is nearly the same and a whole lot more affordable. Hubs proposed here. I'm kinda fond of it.
Bonsai Bistro - 101 E. Sherman Ave.
Our local version of PF Chang's. My fave is the orange peel chicken. Cool Koi fish on lower level.
Brix (or whatever it's called this month) - 317 E. Sherman Ave.
The constant change of ownership has made it too confusing. Menu is good, but over-priced.
Calypsos Coffee Company - 116 E. Lakeside Ave.
A great coffee house to get some work done on your laptop. Great play area for kids if you have to work with kids-in-tow. Open-mic on Monday nights.
Cricket's Steakhouse and Oyster Bar - 424 E. Sherman Ave.
Don't ask my opinion. Period. You don't want to know.
Dockside - 115 S. 2nd (in The Resort)
Standard restaurant-in-a-hotel fare. Mediocre atmosphere and menu. The Lovely Family typically only frequents their "Gooey" (dessert) bar late at night when jonesing for a treat.
Fort Ground Grill - 705 River Ave.
Great little restaurant. Has the best French Onion Soup in town. Close to downtown Coeur d'Alene in the Fort Grounds, but away from traffic. Near North Idaho College. Drive around after you eat to get a peek at some the of the cutest old homes in all of Coeur d'Alene.
Hudson's Hamburgers - 207 E. Sherman Ave.
A Cd'A tradition worthy of all the hype! In the summer months, be prepared to wait for a seat. Get there long before you actually want to eat. Dropping by to "see if there are seats available" won't work.
Iron Horse Bar and Grill - 407 E. Sherman Ave.
The passing of the new non-smoking ordinance is the only thing that has made this place attractive to me. Used to be (and still is) known as "The Iron Lung" to locals. I don't know if they'll get the smell out, even with new non-smoking ordiance
Java on Sherman - 324 E. Sherman Ave.
Love it! Hypster-place for the local beatnik. Food is pricey, but the Bowl of Soul is Divine!
Olympia Restaurant - 301 E. Lakeside Ave.
Local Greek. Only been once for a job interview. Got the job. Good track record.
Scratch / Pub on 5th - 501 E. Sherman Ave.
Love it! Very good food. Convenient downtown location.
Toro Viejo - 117 N. 2nd
Standard Mexican fare with convenient downtown Coeur d'Alene location.
Wine Cellar - 313 E. Sherman Ave.
Nice wine list. Good food. Menu never changes.
Mid-town Coeur d'Alene (very near downtown, just slightly North)
315 Martinis and Tapas (at the Greenbriar Inn) - 315 Wallace Ave.
Sadly, only had the chance to go once. Good from what I can remember.
Angelo's Restorante - 846 N. 4th
Good food and intimate atmosphere. Don't bring little kids, they don't have the room, nor the patience.
Bistro on Spruce - 1710 N. 4th
Went once with a gal pal for a girls night out. Food was okay. Dessert was really good. Cocktail was very good.
Capone's Pub and Grill - 751 N. 4th
Great pizza with every beer on tap you can imagine. Local hang for the Real Estate crowd. Kids are good there, too.
Chinese Gardens - 310 N. 4th
Never been.
Kelly's Irish Pub and Grill - 726 N. 4th
Hubs and I went once for drink after dinner with friends when it first opened. Nice wait staff. Guinness always makes you feel great, but no beers on tap.
Syringa Japanese Cafe and Sushi Bar - 1401 N. 4th
There are not enough good things to say! Words fail me.
Around town Coeur d'Alene - North of town
Fedora Pub and Grill - 1726 W. Kathleen Ave.
Good food and very reasonably priced. Staff is willing to go off menu for those more adventurous kids who don't like typical "kid" food (like my MunchinkinButt).
Fishermans Market and Grill - 215 W. Kathleen Ave.
Good food. Many different kinds of fish and chips to choose from. Quick and easy for your fish fix.
Las Chavelas - 296 W. Sunset Ave. # 23
Your basic Mexican family restaurant. My local fave because of the salsa. Yummy!
Nosworthy's Hall of Fame - 4045 N. Government Way
Your basic beer and burger joint where only cash or checks are accepted. No debit or credit cards! Formally known as: The Ground Round. Will **ALWAYS** be know as "The G.R." to us locals.
Around town Coeur d'Alene - West of town
Bardenay - 1710 West Riverstone Drive
Very good menu with items you won't see elsewhere around town. They have an EXCELLENT cocktail menu and their House Bardenay Martini is the bomb!
Cafe Carambola - 610 W. Hubbard # 110
Love it! Excellent food with excellent people! Don't think Mexican, think "Gourmet Latin" with a twist.
Cedars Floating Restaurant - 1514 S. Marina Drive
Hubs and I save Cedars for special occasions. The prices are on the high end, but we find it worth it when we want to splurge.
Around town Coeur d'Alene - East of town
Beachouse - 4316 E. Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive
Great waterfront location, but that's the extent to its pros. Prices are too high for the quality of food you get and the service provided. I've left many times wondering why I always give it another chance.
Jimmy's Down the Street - 1613 E. Sherman Ave.
A local favorite, even before it was featured on "Diner's, Drive Ins and Dives" on the Food Network.
Michael D's Eatery - 203 Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive
Family style diner with OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD eggs benedict. The Lovely Family eats there weekly. Their entire wait staff is great, but Hubs and I are partial to Pam.
Moon Time - 1602 E. Sherman Ave.
What can you say about the corn pasta? Simply wonderful and the beer ain't bad either. Family friendly, even though their kids menu leaves A LOT to be desired.
Roger's Ice Cream & Burgers - 1224 E. Sherman Ave.
A Coeur d'Alene staple. Hubs remembers getting burgers and ice cream from Roger's as a little boy following days at the beach.
Wolf Lodge Steakhouse - 11741 E. Frontage Road
No list of restaurants in and around Coeur d'Alene would be complete without Wolf Lodge. Carnivores need only apply. Yummy.
