You Dirty Dog...

A few of you have asked what I do for a living. Up until recently I handled all online and traditional marketing for a small, family run (my family, to be specific) business here in Coeur d'Alene.

Thanks in part to ilovecda.com, however, I recently joined a small firm here in Cd'A that handles online affiliate marketing (aka: a lot of Twitter, a lot of Facebook, a lot of web surfing - be jealous) for some pretty big named companies. Retailers, to be more specific, that are household names here in the States, as well as with our friendly neighbors to the North.

My relatively new position has put me in touch with some of the most talented people in the industry. One of them is my foosball cohort and a leading Hank Williams Jr. fan, JJ Honeycutt from DirtyBlue Media.

DirtyBlue Media is a web and graphics design and development company based here in Coeur d'Alene and they push out some seriously wicked stuff. Tricked out websites like you can't believe, SEO strategies to make your head spin, digital photography that puts me to shame, you name it.

I was lamenting (read that: "whinning") the other day about not having a logo. All I want is a simple logo. Something using the "ilovecda.com" name. No fancy stuff. Though far beneath his abilities, JJ whipped out not one, but two logos that I love so much I might just french kiss them.

Take a peek...

Now, who's up for a little foosball?

FAQ - ilovecda.com in a nutshell

Alright, in order to catch you up to pace, let's just go for it:

1) Did you take the photo of your chalkboard?

No. I found a couple of images that worked as my inspiration and I took them to a good friend of mine (who is a REAL professional photographer) and she helped me pull the final look together.

This is her and I {wuv} her even though she has terrible taste in movies. Visit her site here. She rocks.

2) What does LH and LD stand for?

Lovely Husband and Lovely Daughter

3) You call your daughter MunchkinButt or LD. Why don't you use her name?

One word: weirdos

4) Do you take all the photos on your blog?

Eh gad! I wish. If I take the photo, I put the "www.ilovecda.com" watermark across it (like these ones). If not, I don't. I don't swipe photos. Not without permission. I'm not personally "in" to cyber-piracy, it snorts at night and it smells bad. I do use PhotoXpress.com from time to time. They're cool.

5) Why recipes on a blog about Coeur d'Alene?

Hey, we all gotta eat!

6) Why don't you have a calendar of events?

Why would I?

7) Team Edward or Team Jacob.

Edward! Yowza!!!

8) Do your friends get tired of you lugging PrettyGirl everywhere you go?

Um, hell-to-the-yeah! But they love me and, secretly, I think they like to see themselves on ilovecda. It's my own personal voyeurism.

9) Who is PrettyGirl?

My fancy-dancy camera that sent me into hock.

10) Who are you?

I am M-------n, female, XX years old. I am the offspring of one female and one male. I partake in red wine and enjoy an occasional game of dodgeball, or two. I have one daughter, I call her Punk or MunchkinButt or Sunshine or "Hey, you!" I am bound by legal contract to one male who I call "The King of Overkill"  or "Captain Overkill" - whatever strikes my fancy. We have been legally bound for XX years. Born in the Windy City. Raised a Mile High. Call Cd'A home. I like the word "snarkey."
