Free/Cheap things to do with Kids around Coeur d'Alene this Holiday Season - Coeur d'Alene Library Events

Post a Comment | I have always been a huge fan of the Coeur d'Alene Public Library.

When MunchkinButt was first born, trips to the library helped keep me sane: Book Babies, finding a quiet corner to grab a book and ignore the world, writing workshops, you name it. Hubs, too, is an AVID reader (no joke, our overdue fines at the library pay for some folks' salary, I'm sure of it!) and loves spending time with MB there.
For these reasons I am a regular visitor to the Coeur d'Alene Library website and like to post about the latest goings-on so you can visit with your family. Besides, it's great FREE (or, at the very least, cheap) family fun!
Take a peek at what's happening at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library this December:
Cheap Movies at the Coeur d'Alene Library
The following movie is part of the Coeur d'Alene Library "Moving Books" series - a series of the written word turned into film (more on that in later posts). They are asking for a $5.00 donation to help enhance the library's DVD collection, but it's not required. Free popcorn will be provided.
- Thursday, Dec. 1st - "Polar Express" at 6pm (special Family Time engagement)
- More films will be announced after the holidays
The film and date/time are subject to change. So confirm with the library website before you pack up the kids and head down.
Free Movies at the Coeur d'Alene Library
The following is a list of free movies provided by the children's library downstairs:
- Wednesday, Dec. 7th - "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" at 1pm and again at 4pm
- Tuesday, Dec. 27th - "The Muppet Movie" at 1pm
- Tuesday, Dec. 27th - "The Borrowers" at 4pm
- Wednesday, Dec. 28th - "Care Bears Movie II" at 1pm
- Wednesday, Dec. 28th - "Bridge to Terabithia" at 4pm
- Thursday, Dec. 29th - "101 Dalmations" at 1pm
- Thursday, Dec. 29th - "Gnomeo and Juliet" at 4pm
All films and dates/times subject to change. So confirm with the library website before you pack up the kids and head down.
Local Authors at the Coeur d'Alene Library
Hubs and I are doing our best to instill a love of reading in MunchkinButt (which explains why we spend so much time there), so we read to her constantly. But nothing compares to hearing a book read by the author!
- Tuesday, Dec. 6th - author Linda Konency reads her book "Dave's First Christmas" at 11am
- Thursday, Dec. 8th - author Wendy Snodgrass (a personal friend of mine. yeah!) reads her book "Barrett's Bears" at 4pm
- Thursday, Dec. 8th - author Carol Muzik reads her book "Raising Lucy" at 4:30pm
Again, make sure you check with the children's calendar on the library website to confirm dates and times before heading down.
Have fun this holiday season!
