BW Barkery, it's all about the pooch

Post a Comment | I'm tellin' ya, the Kootenai County Farmers Market is filled with some of the most talented farmers and crafters this side of the Mississippi and I'm happy to report that the Lovely Family met another one last week.
When I walked by her booth, I noticed (what I thought at first glance) were designer pillows for the most posh of master bedrooms. And, I was right... to an extent. Except they weren't for any bedroom I would be sleeping in.
Enter RockStar Dog, my doggie best friend and local celeb extraordinaire.
BW Barkery specializes in not JUST posh design for the most discriminate of canines, but also yummy treats to satisfy any poochy palate. And, since BW Barkery treats are made of all organic ingredients (wild caught salmon and locally harvested ingredients), they are meant to be gentle to the canine waistline, too.
The inspiration behind BW Barkery were Bufford and Walker - Debbie's two canine buddies who have since gone to the big dog bone in the sky. Walker had an alergy to wheat and Debbie found that alot of the so called "healthy" food and treats for pets were misrepresented; therefore, common store brought treats didn't cut the mustard for him.
Debbie began making Walker's treats from scratch and BW Barkery was born. And, even though both her beloved friends passed away only four months after the launch of BW Barkery, they were there for all of the sampling and taste testing when Debbie was getting her recipes perfected. Needless to say, the recipes passed Bufford and Walker's inspection and got the BW seal of approval.
Since the passing of Bufford (a Cocker Spaniel) and Walker (a Golden Retriever), Debbie has since adopted two Goldens (Chase and Griffey) from the wonderful people at Inland Empire Golden Retriever Rescue, an organization very near and dear to the folks at BW Barkery.
If you are interested in getting your hands on some of the delectable treats and fancy, dancy doggie pillows and toys, you can find BW Barkery on the web, by visiting Lakewood Animal Hospital or Orvis Northwest Outfitters, both here in Coeur d'Alene. You can, also, find BW Barkery at the number of farmers markets around town.
